Heritage attending the 2026 Scottish Highland Games are:
Adrian Empire, Alhambra
- The Northwest chapter of the Adrian Empire, a non-profit organization dedicated to the study and recreation of the Western European culture from the year 793 to 1625. We provide educational exhibits, fighting demos and instruction, archery, and arts demos from this era to the public.
Varggard Empire of Medieval Pursuits
- Fighting demonstrations, an archery range for the public, and kids boppers to fight with a shoot a knight.
Scottish Country Dance
- Try Scottish Country Dance, the traditional social dance of Scotland. Join us for simple ceilidh dances led by the Spokane Scottish Country Dancers.
Scottish Country Dance Demonstration (with SF Scottish Fiddlers)
- A demonstration of Scottish country dance accompanied by live music.
Spokane Entertainers Guild
- The Spokane Entertainers Guild brings history, heritage, and imagination to life through immersive entertainment, educational programs, and community events. Our flagship event, the Spokane Renaissance Faire, welcomes thousands of guests each year to enjoy live performances, historical demonstrations, artisan vendors, and interactive experiences that celebrate the stories, traditions, and cultures of the past.

- Sponsored by the Spokane St. Andrews Society of the Inland Northwest, this booth helps you discover your tartan and learn about Scottish genealogy. Learn what tartans represent in Scottish culture, from clan identity to modern designs used by organizations worldwide. With over 7,000 tartans on record, they connect people, families, and heritage across the globe. Stop by to explore your Scottish roots and find your tartan!
Woolen Ways Spinning and Fiber Arts
- Demonstration of wool processing and spinning on a variety of wheels.
Sheep Dog Demo
- We will have sheep and Border Collies to demonstrate the dog's instincts and skills moving and manipulating livestock.
Hand Weaving
- Spokane Handweavers' Guild will have looms available for attendees to give weaving a try. There will also be a display of items woven by Guild members.
Ruth Schudel Memorial Shortbread Contest
- A fun way to explore Scottish culture through baking! Enter your shortbread in one of two categories: Traditional (classic flour, butter, and sugar) or Flavored (any added ingredients as long as it remains shortbread). Prizes awarded in each category, and all entries will be available for tasting after judging.
Blacksmithing
- Demonstrations on various styles and techniques of traditional blacksmithing.
Scottish Gaelic
- Learn about Gaelic culture and songs through the oldest continuously spoken language in Scotland! Learn a few phrases—and how you can learn more—and join us for the waulking demonstrations throughout the day. You can take a seat at the table, help waulk the wool—to finish tartan and tweed when it's fresh off the loom—and sing along to traditional Gaelic waulking songs.

- Highland cattle are a vital cultural icon and economic asset to Scotland, renowned for their hardiness in harsh climates. They play a critical role in sustainable land management through conservation grazing, helping to maintain biodiversity by managing scrub and rough forage. As one of the oldest registered breeds, they represent a living legacy of Scottish tradition, while producing high-quality, lean beef in challenging landscapes.
